#Sleep Page - Supporting A Good's Night's Rest

  • Allow one hour before bedtime for a relaxing activity. Add your ideas for ways to relax.
    • Soak in bathtub with epsom salts and baking powder.
    • Read a good book.
    • Put away clothes and take out what you plan for next day.
    • Notations in your journal of what you were thankful for today or any other thoughts.
    • Listen to gentle music.
    • Hugs.
    • Read the children a good night story.
    • Lavendar or aroma therapy.
    • Hot cup of tea.
  • Make sure to take time for body stretches each day.
    • Yoga stretches
    • Deep breathing exercises
    • Qigong
    • Rotate neck, shoulders, wrists and all joints.
    • Point and flex toes while lying in bed.
  • Try not to eat a few hours before bedtime.
    • Each organ has its own biological rhythm
    • Digestion begins in the morning
    • Brain needs time to sort all information from the day
    • Healing while sleeping so you are refreshed in the morning.
    • More blood flow to brain at night.
